Our Non-Profit Partners

In addition to opening their farm doors to the community, farms participating in the 2nd Annual Monterey Bay Greenhouse Open House on Saturday, June 18, 2011 will be raising funds for local nonprofits.  Fresh from the farm flowers, edible herbs, plants, vegetables will all be available for purchase on this special day and the proceeds of these sales will be donated to local non-profits that participating farms have selected.  

The following list highlights the nonprofit organization that each farm is supporting that day:

California Floral Greens– Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks 

California Pajarosa–           Santa Cruz Cancer Benefit Group

Jacobs Farm–                       Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks

Kitayama Brothers–           Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks

Rocket Farms–                     Peace of Mind Dog Rescue

Star Farms–                           Santa Cruz Cancer Benefit Group

Succulent Gardens–           Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks

 

This one-day event will include several local nurseries and provide the public an opportunity to meet with local farmers and learn about a wide variety of products ranging from cut flowers, potted plants, succulents, ornamental greens, and herbs.  Along with presenting the various stages of growing, the tours will touch on specific growing techniques, the importance of sustainability practices, water conservation & recycling and many more interesting topics.
